First Black mainstream superhero to get his own movie?
It has been heard through the grapevine that Stan Lee has been in talks with Marvel Studios’ regarding plans for the future projects, and one of these just so happens to be about the Black Panther movie.
Black Panther is renowned in the comic book world as he was the first black superhero in mainstream comics that nodded to the Black Panther Party that was a group during the Civil Rights Era in the United States. Black Panther obtains tremendous speed, strength and intelligence marking him as one of the most iconic in Marvel.
Marvel Studios have projects booked up until 2019 and Black Panther seems to be a high priority. Stan Lee has reiterated this sentiment stating, “Eventually, all the superheroes are going to have their own movie.” Lee’s sentiment shows some truth given that both Ant-Man and Doctor Strange movies that focus upon lesser known character from the Marvel Universe are on the horizon.
